Capoeira

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines dance, music, and acrobatics. It teaches discipline, self-defense, physical fitness, and promotes self-esteem. Functional Workout

The term “functional”, according to the Houaiss dictionary, is: “Something that was conceived and executed to be more effective in its own functions; that is effective, practical, utilitarian”.
In addition, another explanation is that: “Functional Training aims to improve functional capacity, that is, the ability to carry out normal activities of daily living with efficiency, autonomy and independence”. (Fields Neto; Neto, 2004)
So to understand all this in simpler words, it is valid to say that functional training is based on people's natural movements, such as running, jumping, squatting, pulling and so on.
The functional exercise comes to add to the other modalities present in the gyms and, thus, fill a gap and allow a more homogeneous body development, that is, more complete.
Because according to ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) guidelines, every new thing arouses curiosity among students and teachers, but no physical activity is complete by itself, therefore, it always requires its association with other activities that complete it.
